Cam Tyers B.A. L.A.T.

Cam ’s interest in golf course design stem’s from a love for the game and from years of competitive amateur golf played at the highest level throughout Ontario .

After starting his career with practical experience on a greens crew at Royal Woodbine Golf Club, Cam returned to school and graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical University with a diploma in Landscape Architectural Technology. Following his education, he worked for Toronto-based golf course architect, Robert Heaslip, where he gained experience in producing working drawing packages and site supervision.

Cam joined Carrick Design in 1996 and has been invaluable in new course design on award-winning projects such as Magna Golf Club, Angus Glen North and Bigwin Island . When involved in new course design, Cam ’s responsibilities include working closely with various agencies and co-consultants to secure approvals. He is also actively involved in detailed design of golf features, preparation of detailed grading ,drainage, clearing, grassing and planting plans, as well as supervising the detailed designs in the field and administering contracts.

His renovation and remodeling experience has seen him work as project designer on several well-known Stanley Thompson courses. He has worked in conjunction with Green’s committees in conceiving long range plans for Thornhill, Islington and Sunningdale. He is currently undertaking long range plans for Credit Valley Golf Club and Markland Wood Country Club.
