We co-deigned the Fontana Golf & Country Club for Canadian businessman, Frank Stronach along with Austrian golf course architect Hans Erhardt. It’s the focal point of the prestigious sports club and residential community created as part of the Magna’s International European headquarters (and for a long time has been considered the country’s premier golf course.)

The flat open site presented many challenges to design a captivating and well-drained golf course. The earth excavated from the 11-meter deep groundwater lake was artfully sculpted into undulating fairways, dramatic bunkers and fascinating green surfaces to create a visually stunning and challenging golf course.

We returned to Fontana in 2005 for some minor renovation to prepare the course for the European Tour. Aside from being ranked among Europe’s elite courses it has played host to the Austrian Golf Open on the European Tour since 2006.
